How many models are available?
For model year 2018, we are offering 6 models: the Chief® Classic, Chief® Dark Horse, Chief® Vintage, Chieftain™, Roadmaster™ and the Scout™.
What kind of powertrain does the new Indian Motorcycle® use? Did you build it yourself or buy it off the shelf?
The 2018 Indian® Chief® is powered by the all-new Thunder Stroke™ 111. The new engine delivers an incredible 119 ft/lbs of torque and features styling that pays tribute to legendary Indian Motorcycle® engines of the past. Engineered and developed from the ground up by Indian Motorcycle, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries, all engines are manufactured at our Osceola, Wisconsin facility.

Do you offer factory tours?
We currently offer a final assembly facility tour. Tours must be scheduled in advance. Walk-in tours are not available. Please contact the plant for availability prior to your visit to see if your request can be accommodated.
Visit our Spirit Lake, Iowa facility to see the final assembly process from start to finish. It starts with a Thunder Stroke™ 111 engine being mounted on a carrier and ends with each bike tested on the road dyno before being crated for shipment.

Do you offer tours of your product development center?
Sorry, we do not offer tours or allow public access to our product development center, where future Indian® motorcycles are being developed in a highly-secure facility.

Are your motorcycles made in the USA?
We are proud that all Indian motorcycles are assembled in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The engines are assembled in Osceola, Wisconsin.
Where can I find and purchase various Springfield (pre-1953) and Gilroy (1998-2004)-era Indian Motorcycle® Company parts and accessories?

Does Polaris Industries Inc. purchase of Indian Motorcycle® Company change the warranty on my 2009-2012 motorcycle?
The purchase of Indian Motorcycle® by Polaris® Industries does not change any warranties on 2009-2012 motorcycles. Warranty status will remain in place and be honored.
Will Polaris® make parts for the 1999-2003 bikes?
At this time, Polaris® does not manufacture any parts specifically for the 1999-2003 models Please contact an authorized Indian Motorcycle® dealer.
Will Victory® and/or Polaris® dealers become Indian Motorcycle® dealers?
We are working on rapidly expanding our Indian Motorcycle® dealer network, but this does not mean that any or all Victory® and/or Polaris® dealers will become Indian Motorcycle® dealers.
Can I take my Indian Motorcycle® to a Victory® and/or Polaris® dealer for service/warranty work?
In all warranty situations, you will need to initiate a warranty transaction with an authorized Indian Motorcycle® dealer to obtain service. If there is a customer or dealer concern regarding the distance required for warranty work, your dealership can contact Polaris®. If your Indian Motorcycle® dealership recommends warranty service at a non-Indian Motorcycle® dealer, a member of the Polaris Dealer Services staff will work with you, your dealership and a Victory® dealer to arrange for warranty service work at an established Victory® dealer.
